Home Improvement, Furniture and DesignSummer Outdoor Equipment
Posted by admin in Garage and Storage on 03 29th, 2009What do you do with your equipment outdoors when summer time has not come around and these equipment have no need to be outdoors just yet? Leaving them out in the open while they are not in use will only increase the wear and tear on the equipment even as you’re not actually using it. The elements like extreme temperature, the sun or water could take their toll and completely break down the equipment before you even get a chance to use them for the second or third time.
It is very important to save up some storage space on your home so you can have a safe place to tuck away your summer equipment. The best place in the home to store the equipment would be the basement or the garage. Outdoor stoves and fuel cans are very sensitive and thus should be stored properly in a cool, dry cabinet where the stove would not get wet or where the pressurized fuel bottles would not get damaged. Clean the tents and raincoats properly before storing them. Disassemble and properly secure the parts of the outdoor tent and properly fold the body to place it inside a protective covering to keep it from getting holes, scratches and dirt.
When the time has come again to put the equipment to use, make sure to try them all out before going on your trip, relying on them without double-checking first would be a terrible mistake that could cost you the safety and the enjoyment of your summer trip.
