Summer Outdoor Equipment

Posted by admin in Garage and Storage on 03 29th, 2009

What do you do with your equipment outdoors when summer time has not come around and these equipment have no need to be outdoors just yet? Leaving them out in the open while they are not in use will only increase the wear and tear on the equipment even as you’re not actually using it. The elements like extreme temperature, the sun or water could take their toll and completely break down the equipment before you even get a chance to use them for the second or third time.

It is very important to save up some storage space on your home so you can have a safe place to tuck away your summer equipment. The best place in the home to store the equipment would be the basement or the garage. Outdoor stoves and fuel cans are very sensitive and thus should be stored properly in a cool, dry cabinet where the stove would not get wet or where the pressurized fuel bottles would not get damaged. Clean the tents and raincoats properly before storing them. Disassemble and properly secure the parts of the outdoor tent and properly fold the body to place it inside a protective covering to keep it from getting holes, scratches and dirt.

When the time has come again to put the equipment to use, make sure to try them all out before going on your trip, relying on them without double-checking first would be a terrible mistake that could cost you the safety and the enjoyment of your summer trip.

Posted by admin in General Home Improvement on 03 29th, 2009

In search for a perfect destination this summer? The beaches will definitely be crowded, with not even a spot to lay down your towel and blanket. The public swimming resorts are well… too public and crowded as well. So where do you go to show off that new string bikini you just got for yourself? Where else, but your own home? Yes, you can make your own backyard a perfect summer getaway for you and your friends. Here are some pool party essentials:

1. A clean and cool swimming pool. Summer is the time to clean up that pool and get it ready for some company. Set-up lounge chairs, straw mats and tikis all around the pool to bring in a tropic vibe.
2. Stock up on drinks, fruits and lots of (and LOTS) of ice. Take out your blender and margarita shaker. Get your cocktail recipes ready for the party.
3. Soften up the heat with cool summer music. Reggae works for most people as ‘beach music, some people go for the 80’s New Wave or rock but the soundtrack of 50 First Dates is a definite item on everyone’s list.

Add up all the three to your own party mood, dress up in that gorgeous string bikini, and call up your friends to get your pool party going.

The Bamboo has been used for centuries in the tropics. Now why is that the case and why would that be significant in your case? Well first, the bamboo is widely available and very, very cheap. Second, the bamboo is a very strong material. In fact, the bamboo has been used as weapons and spears before. As you can see, Bamboo Products are indeed durable and strong even though they are made from materials that are naturally available. Expect to have these products for years and years to come.

Now moving forward, beyond the common bamboo product like a bamboo chair or bamboo sofa, what bamboo product can you still use for your home? Well, bamboo can be used as a fencing material.

Fences need to be strong and they also need to be tall in some cases. Fences also need to be sharp so that no one can just climb over them. Fences are an essential part of having a secure home. Bamboo Fencing is perfect for you then. Other than that it is cheap (like we mentioned before), there are additional advantages of having a bamboo fence. First, bamboo is naturally tall. Second, bamboo is easy to cut to size and even put sharp points to it. Mind you though, when bamboo is tied together, it is very strong. Finally, a bamboo fence will look different from what we normally see as fences and will surely be eye-pleasing to anyone.
